Strength at Home
Home is where your strength comes out the most. If you’re like me, it would be hard to contain it, knowing it is strong, but it’s better you try to maintain it because it could lead to consequences good or bad. I understand it will be hard but trying takes practice and work ethic. I encourage you think about whether it is a good time to practice or just leave it and find another opportunity to use it.
When you’re at home listen to your parents and do what they tell you. Strength doesn’t always have to be bold and look at me. You can find strength even if you put yourself under your parents care your still showing strength just in a different way. Showing humility is one of the strongest ways to show strength. It is also the hardest way to show it. I think we all can relate, why, well a lot of us have a hard time showing humility because our minds think showing humility weakens us but the truth is it strengthens us in ways we least expect it.
So please don’t let your thought direct you away from the truth. Remember humility equals strength in the least obvious ways. BY: JASMINE GARDNER
Strength in Your Family
In a family setting you probably have a mother, a father, and maybe some siblings. Have you ever heard your parents say “your dad and I are a team. We help each other and care for each other.” This might not be for all of you but, you have heard words like that. Well think of it this way your parents or whoever you live with like: maybe your grandparents, your parents, your sister or even a group home.
They all might have a partner that have said those words or similar to them. Anyways, their probably saying this because they can depend on each other and sometimes they draw strength from each other. This comes in handy because not only can they draw strength from each other you can draw strength from them to; they can draw strength from you it is honestly and technically just an unending shape of something like a circle or a triangle or a square. Ether way you draw strength from each other in one way or another. You need them and they need you. It might not seem like it, you play a part and when your gone it’s just different. From my experiences it is too quiet when I am gone because I have a voice and usually have the music way to loud. Wherever you are in life they might get upset with you, but, when you leave or are gone it is just not the same without you. What I am trying to say is this: your part in whatever setting you are in you can get strength from inside you or from whomever because for a matter of fact you are part of that team of unending care and strength. So do not underestimate what part you play because it big. By: JASMINE GARDNER

Strength Through School
Through the school year, many students struggle with keeping strength. Physically, they become tired and sometimes many grow bored of listening and even working through problems. By the end of the day, it can be easy to forget everything wrong from the day and simply do nothing due to overworking the brain. Looming over them however, is another long day of school ahead of you; it can be overwhelming at times, and that is when the lack of strength hits.
Sometimes this concequntail weakness makes it seem like the world is falling into pieces. For those who enjoy listening to encourging music, may have heard the line “when the waves are taking you under hold a little bit longer,” by Mandisa.
This is a truly universal statement, though it’s a line from a song “stronger”. Strength is something deep down; in times such as these it must be called up and utilized. By: Jasmine Gardner
Dare to Stand Out
Those who have read The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier, or the poem ‘J. Alfred Proofrock’ by T.S. Eliot you know the line: “do I dare disturb the universe?” This line adorns a poster tacked upon the walls of iCharles Appleby’s computer lab, and is talked about with great passion by Sam Tudor’s sophomore English class, but what does it really mean; More importantly, do students at Bigfork High School dare to disturb their universes?
Many students are afraid to stand out or to change the status quo, for fear that the change might somehow be worse, or that the effort will not be worth the pain or labor. Sometimes we want to change ourselves, but don’t know the outcome. “Sometimes it would be nice to [change my universe]. If I was sure that it would be positive,” said junior English teacher Charlotte Ball. In many cases, as culinary teacher Sue Mcgregor puts it, “We disturb the universe to the point of destroying it.” Counsler Solveig Munson believes that, “you have to speak out for yourself and speak what’s right and if that means you have to have conflict for the bigger questions then encounter that conflict with strength. If we stayed silent we would be fake versions of ourselves.”
“We disturb the universe everyday,” states Sue Zeilanski of the computer science department. This might be controversial or cause division in classes because each person has their own opinions. Many would try not to disturb the universe because they prefer to be in the background watching, But there are others, like Tudor who states confidently “Oh yeah, I do it all the time.” Whether they want to or not, everyone disturbs the universe in one way or another simply by living in it. Everyone leaves a footprint even when they do not want to. The question is, is it the footprint they want to leave? By: Jasmine Gardner
